Each year at the gala awards dinner FMANZ recognises members’ service to the Association by awarding them with a Service Award or Fellowship.
Because the existing Service Award system was not recognising sufficient numbers of worthy members who have made a significant contribution, this year FMANZ is introducing a number of changes, on the recommendation of the Board-appointed Service Awards Working Group.
To place more emphasis on the value or positive contribution made by a nominee (as opposed to simply recognising the duration of service), from 2021 nominations will include both a points score (as in the past) and an endorsement describing what the nominee has done to benefit FMANZ, such as securing new members, innovations introduced, advocacy, securing significant sponsorship, contributing to learning, mentorship, FMANZ brand ambassadorship, ethics and personal qualities.
The points thresholds and points allocations have also been adjusted and the process for generating nominations has moved from being nominator-led to being administered and initiated by the management team.
