At the monthly Board meeting in March, the Board approved an increase to both Individual and Corporate membership fees. From 1 April, the start of the new financial year, Individual membership fees will increase from $225+GST to $300+GST per annum, and Corporate membership fees from $1100+GST to $1400+GST per annum.
“For some time we have known that our fee structure is not aligned with similar professional membership organisations, and a fee increase is required to allow us to provide the increasing range of services expected by our members,” says Board Chair Bruce Kenning. Recent initiatives include the development of SMS notifications for events, the redevelopment of the website to make it easier to record CPD points and understand which categories you should still be targeting for your professional development, and investigation into the development of an FMANZ App so members can access core services more easily.
The Board believes this increase still leaves our fees below other comparable organisations and a further review will be carried out over the next few months, with findings presented at this year’s AGM, to be held at our annual FM Summit in September.
The Board also discussed and approved changes to the Retired Membership category. From tomorrow retired members will retain similar benefits as Individual members at a reduced annual membership fee of $100+GST, which recognises their desire to continue to remain connected to and contribute to the FM Industry.
Retired members can use the post-nominal for membership status at the time of retirement, followed by (Retired), e.g., CFMANZ (Retired); can attend all free National and Branch membership networking, educational and social events and register for National and Branch membership networking, educational and social events where there is a fee payable. They will hold voting rights at the AGM (if enrolled as an Individual member), can use the FMANZ logo on business correspondence; can serve on Branch Committees, Board Committees and the Board; can provide professional expertise and knowledge to FMANZ on request of the CEO or Board and serve as a Mentor.
They will no longer be required to complete CPD points.
