Guest Judges Announced for Ngā Tohu a FMANZ Awards

Joining our stellar team of FMANZ judges – John Hutchings (Chair), Graham Bottom CFMANZ (Deputy Chair), Amanda Collinson MFMANZ, Jonathan Jepson FFMANZ, Agnes McCormack MFMANZ, Sam Pohiva MFMANZ, Vanessa Powell and Craig Stephens – we are delighted to welcome five guest judges to our 2023 Ngā Tohu a FMANZ Awards judging panel.

Kristiana Greenwood, guest judge for the 2023 Brian Happy Award for Facilities Manager of the Year | Te Tohu o Brian Happy – Kaiwhakahaere Whakaurunga o te Tau

As a regular judge for the PCA Innovations & Excellence Awards and the People in Property Awards, Australia-based Kristiana brings valuable international experience to the judging panel for our Facilities Manager of the Year Award.  Before taking up her current role as Director of Strategic Relationships at GJK Facility Services, she was the Co-founder and Director of FM Innovations, an award-winning technology company that she sold in early 2019 to PayApps, a leading global software platform for construction and building operations. Kris is a graduate of AICD and was appointed the first female Chair of FMA Australia in 2015, and was on the board until 2022. She was recently honoured with a prestigious Life Time Membership award for her contribution to the FM industry. She is a Non-Executive Director of PayApps, an Ambassador of Housing All Australians, a Director of TEN Women, an Advisory Board member of PNO Insurance and an Advisory Board Member of GJK Facility Services.

Pamela Bell, guest judge for the 2023 Emerging Facilities Management Professional of the Year Award | Te Ringa Ngaio Maea ki FM o te Tau

As CEO of the New Zealand Institute of Building (NZIOB), an Olympic snowboarder, an Adjunct Professor at Victoria University of Wellington, and a recipient of several awards, Pamela brings a wealth of experience in a wide range of areas to her role as guest judge of our Emerging Facilities Management Professional of the Year Award | Te Ringa Ngaio Maea ki FM o te Tau. Pamela’s diverse background also spans architecture research and writing (MArch, Kiwi Prefab book + exhibition), business entrepreneurship (PrefabNZ Inc, Fruition Apparel Ltd, NZ Snowboard Academy Ltd), and governance (including XFrame, Urban Plus, Seaview Marina, Abodo Wood, ConCOVE, MBIE Building Advisory Panel + BRANZ). Pamela founded the peak body for innovative construction, PrefabNZ, in 2010 from her Master of Architecture thesis – Kiwi Prefab – which was also turned into a book and museum exhibition.

Stella Green FFMANZ, guest judge for the 2023 Facilities Management Team of the Year Award | Te Ranga FM o te Tau

A post-graduate qualified change management professional, and a Fellow of FMANZ, Stella brings over 20 years of experience working with teams to her role as guest judge of our Facilities Management Team of the Year Award. Principal Consultant with Be Confident Change Consultants, Stella has worked at the forefront of workforce change since founding Be Confident consultancy in 2006, reinventing workplaces across several NZ industries including transport, legal and financial services, energy, education, communications and government. Focusing on making work more human during disruption, Stella helps leaders and organisations achieve their goals while boosting staff engagement and effectiveness.

Lance Jimmieson, guest judge for the 2023 Service Provider of the Year Award | Te Kaiwhakawhiwhi Ratonga o te Tau

Lance is the Managing Director of Jacksons Engineering, the winner of our Service Provider of the Year Award in 2020. A specialist Building Services engineer with over 40 years experience, Lance prides himself on improving the performance of existing buildings while up-skilling the industry to help change the conversation. He is passionate about creating greater awareness of the positive benefits of engineering better building environments and an advocate of ground-breaking change in the creation and management of healthier more sustainable buildings. Lance is also a NABERSNZ Accredited Assessor and Certified Measurement and Verification Professional, and a course developer and trainer for Building Services courses.

Bobby Shen, guest judge for our 2023 Sustainability & Environmental Impact Award | Te Tohu Whakaaweawe Whakauke me te Taiao

A familiar face to members from FMANZ sustainability workshops, Bobby is the Business Development Manager for existing buildings at the NZGBC. His role is to enable those in the property industry, including facilities managers, to measure, improve and future-proof buildings with sustainability. He manages the Green Star Performance, NABERSNZ, and Net Zero Buildings rating tools which can be used to guide people’s work in this area. Bobby has a background in architectural design and sustainability and has worked with an assortment of buildings over his career.
