Facilitated by our MC, Pio Terei, learn about their journeys in this insightful talk – from challenges to triumphs, and how recognition has shaped their impact. This is a true moment of insight, inspiration, and manaakitanga.
The event will kick off with a short welcome drink and light finger food, followed by the Tohu Talks in the intimate Loft of Q Theatre.

Angela Yannakis
Delivery Manager, Citycare Property – Facilities Manager of the Year 2025
Angela has spent nine years shaping some of New Zealand’s most complex operational environments, from critical infrastructure for NZ Defence and the Corrections and Justice sector to leading the Citycare Property FM contract at Christchurch International Airport (CIAL).
As Delivery Manager, she oversees 24/7 operations across the airport terminal and 130 buildings, ensuring safe, resilient performance for tenants, staff, and more than six million passengers each year.
Her leadership has driven major service improvements, including stronger compliance, data‑driven processes, and innovative tools that enhance efficiency and client value.
David Curry
Consultant, VeterFM, formerly Facilities Director, AUT Estates Group – FM Team of the Year 2025 & 2026 Global FM Platinum Award Winner
David Curry is a former FMANZ Board member and recently retired as Group Director Estates at Auckland University of Technology (AUT), a role he held from 2020. Prior to this, he served as AUT’s Director of Facilities Services from 2012.
During his time at AUT, David led a team of 200 staff and 500 contractors responsible for events, property, construction, maintenance, and service delivery across the University’s $1.9 billion, 60-building portfolio. His team also oversaw security and emergency management.
David now works as a Consultant with VeterFM, bringing his extensive experience in facilities and asset management to support organisations across the sector.
Before joining AUT, David served for nearly 25 years in the UK and NZ Defence Forces, primarily managing the maintenance and operation of large bases and delivering infrastructure construction projects. Since his first FM role in 1988, he has also held operational property and facilities roles in Kuwait, Turkey, Oman, Cyprus, and Afghanistan.
Jason Happy
Deputy Group Director Estates, AUT Estates Group – FM Team of the Year 2025
Jason has over two decades of executive leadership in facilities and asset management, alongside operational roles in these areas and time practicing as an engineer.
From managing one of New Zealand’s largest and most varied commercial property portfolios to roles in the higher education, research and residential sectors, Jason brings a range of knowledge in not only facilities and asset management but also all forms of developments from small to landmark, ESG and sustainability, health and safety and crisis management.
A founding FMANZ Board member and former Board chair Jason has been contributing to FMANZ for many years.
