Online Drop-in Sessions for Your Suggestions on the Climate Change Commission Report
To register your interest for one of the sessions, drop us a line at advocacy@fmanz.org.
Our sector is at the centre of the most pressing issue of our times. Our facilities, and our facilities managers, including you, have a vital role to play.
Our buildings and facilities will increasingly face the brunt of storms and floods which have been fueled by climate change pollution. And much of that pollution is caused by the very buildings which are in the crosshairs.
The recently released Climate Change Commission report reflects this, with much of it relevant to our mahi, and our facilities. The report is the latest advice to the government detailing how New Zealand should be reducing emissions between 2026 and 2030.
There’s an entire chapter on the built environment, and other sections too which will impact our work, on transport and electric vehicles, and on waste and fluorinated gases.
The draft advice and recommendations are open for consultation until 20 June.
FMANZ will be making a submission, and we’d love to hear any feedback or suggestions you think we should include.
We’ll be running the following drop-in sessions online next week:
Tuesday 30 May – 9.00 - 9.30am
Tuesday 30 May – 12.30 - 1.00pm
Thursday 1 June – 3.00 - 3.30pm
