Event Description

FMANZ Manawatū Site Visit:
Managing a Unique Community Facility - Kelvin Grove Cemetery

Venue
Kelvin Grove Cemetery and Crematorium
118 James Line, Kelvin Grove, Palmerston North
Directions

Join FMANZ Manawatū for a unique behind-the-scenes visit to Kelvin Grove Cemetery - Palmerston North’s main cemetery and crematorium, which has served the region since 1927.

Hosted by Rachel Craw and Emmet Parsons, this guided walk-through will provide facilities management professionals with valuable insights into the operation of this specialised facility. Learn about the buildings, infrastructure, and practical requirements involved in keeping the site running smoothly, safely, and in compliance.

This visit offers a rare opportunity to explore an essential community asset from an FM perspective, ask questions, and gain a greater appreciation of the systems and processes that support its day-to-day operation. Set across 36 hectares, the site provides around 180 burials and 400 cremations each year and includes a chapel, memorial garden and modern cremation facilities.

We look forward to seeing you there.
