Event Description

Online Workshop - Key Lighting Principles for Facilities Managers

Join Susan Mander, Lecturer and Academic Lead of Massey University’s Lighting Laboratory, as she sheds some light on … well, light!

In this two-and-a-half-hour online workshop, Susan will explore:
  • Session 1:  Units and instruments.  What is light, and how is it measured?
  • Session 2:  Colour concepts.  What is Correlated Colour Temperature (or CCT in lighting tech jargon) and how does it affect productivity?  Why do some colours appear different in artificial light?
  • Session 3:  Light sources.  How do LED sources compare to older technologies?
  • Session 4:  Flicker.  What is flicker, and is it harmful?
Each of the four 30-minute sessions will consist of:
  • A 20-minute presentation
  • A 5-minute breakout session
  • 5-minutes for debrief/questions

About the presenter:
