FMANZ Wellington – The Great FM Debate
After a five-year hiatus, The Great FM Debate returns to Wellington for one night only, tackling the provocative topic: “We should not be refurbishing Wellington buildings – build new!” FMANZ Wellington committee member Nix Lavin will chair as preselected teams argue for and against the motion, with the audience invited to enjoy an evening of lively debate and industry connection.

After five long years, the FMANZ Wellington Committee is excited to bring back The Great FM Debate for an evening of lively discussion, strong opinions, and great industry connection. This year’s moot is: “We should not be refurbishing Wellington buildings, build new!”
Preselected affirmative and negative teams will go head-to-head, chaired by FMANZ’s own Nix Lavin, as they test the merits of refurbishing versus building new in Wellington’s evolving built environment. Attendees are invited to bring plenty of energy and support for their side as part of a lively audience.
Doors open at 5:30 pm, with drinks and snacks provided, courtesy of our event partner, Stantec.
Spaces are limited to 50 people, so early registration is essential.
