FMANZ Otago members, join us for a site tour of the newly completed 40 Fitzroy Street Community Housing development in Caversham. This project forms part of the Dunedin City Council’s wider programme to upgrade and expand its community housing portfolio.
The original buildings on this site were among the oldest in the DCC housing stock, with the front dwelling dating back to 1909 and additional units added in 1965. Over time, they deteriorated and were no longer fit for purpose. They have now been replaced with four new, modern homes designed to better meet current standards and community needs, with a focus on long-term performance and maintainability.
This visit offers an opportunity to see the layout and build quality firsthand, and explore how the design supports ongoing maintenance and meets community needs.
We'll round off the evening with drinks, nibbles and good conversation at the nearby Waterloo Hotel, thanks to the team at Cushman & Wakefield.
