Karl Fitzpatrick, Building Information Manager, Auckland Airport
As the Building Information Manager for Auckland Airport, Karl is tasked with reimagining how built environment data can be utilised in a business that isn’t your typical AEC firm. Having previously studied architecture in New Zealand and working as an architect on healthcare projects in Finland, Karl has experience working on both sides of large-scale and complex projects. Karl is passionate about the need for OpenBIM and fostering innovation by not dictating what tools the supply chain must use, but rather setting clear requirements for data delivery.
Juan Martinez, Asset Management Specialist: Mechanical | BEng Tech (Mech) MEngNZ, Tauranga City Council
Juan is a creative pragmatic engineer with a strong passion for sustainability and energy-efficient systems. He strongly believes in the value that synergism brings to any undertaking, in other words, one and one equals three. At TCC, Juan forms part of the asset management team with a focus on mechanical and electrical assets. He has been part of the BIM framework development team, performs the role of project information manager, and is currently implementing a Common Data Environment to aid asset information models visualization.
