Simi Mukherjee, Head of Facilities Management at PMG, has taken out the Facilities Manager of the Year title at this week’s FMANZ Awards.
Each year, the Brian Happy Award is presented to a facilities management professional who has applied their experience and knowledge to produce exceptional results within their organisation while displaying excellent personal qualities.
At the awards ceremony, held at the Glasshouse Morningside in Auckland, Geoffrey Lambert, Process Improvement Coordinator with Westpac, was recognised as the 2020 Young Achiever of the Year. This award is presented to a facilities management professional under the age of 35 who has shown a strong and on-going commitment to their personal development and that of the wider industry.
Jackson Engineering Advisers took away the Service Provider of the Year Award, which acknowledges outstanding provision of contracted-out facilities management services.
“We congratulate the winners of this year’s awards who have demonstrated their outstanding skills and service to facilities management in New Zealand from a strong field of nominations in a very challenging year,” says FMANZ Chief Executive Gillian Wess.
Despite the challenges of Covid, FMANZ received 40% more nominations than in 2019 – “All of a very high calibre, making this year an exceptionally strong competition,” says awards committee Chair John Hutchings.
The FMANZ Awards were established to recognise and applaud the achievements of individuals and service providers who have excelled in facilities management, to promote the FM industry to the wider community, and to highlight the significant contribution FM makes to the health, wellbeing and productivity of New Zealanders.
“This year’s finalists certainly met all these criteria in spades,” says John.
FMANZ also extends congratulations to all the finalists.
