FM Summit 2020 Dates Announced: 16 - 17 June in Auckland

Exciting news! Planning is underway for FM Summit 2020, which will take place on 16-17 June at the Cordis Hotel in Auckland. Mark these dates in your diary now!

The Summit Committee is working to produce another bumper programme of inspirational and informative speakers and topics. Feedback from delegates following this year's Summit indicates there is keen interest in the areas of sustainability, smart buildings, digital transformation and the future of FM, future ways of working, supplier/contractor relationships, FM involvement in construction and personal development/leadership. If you're a confident and engaging speaker with a specialist knowledge in any of these areas (or you have a great case study to share) - or know someone who is - please get in touch with Sara at editor@fmanz.org. Note: No sales pitches please.

FMANZ Welcomes Three New Board Members

Following the AGM held on 17 October,  FMANZ welcomes three new members to its Board. Two nominations were received for two vacancies in the Northern Region and Ross Brunton (Hamilton) and Paul Huggins (Auckland) were duly elected. Vanessa Powell was duly elected on to the Board from the Central Region.

We farewell Warren Smith who stood down from the Board having completed his term of office, and Veronika Harrison who had stood for reelection. Read more about the new Board members in ForuM.

Congratulations to our Newest Assessed Members

Congratulations to our most recent cohort of assessed members who have demonstrated a commitment to their career and the FM profession:

Roger Ogilvy, Affiliate, Matt Davidson (AFMANZ), Jason Reed (AFMANZ), Stephanie Utanga (AFMANZ), Regan Simpson (MFMANZ), Agnes McCormack (MFMANZ), Stewart Hinks (MFMANZ), Kendra Wallace  (MFMANZ), Chris Teague (MFMANZ), Bruce Hay-Chapman (MFMANZ), Tim Dempsey (MFMANZ), Richard Wilson (MFMANZ), Anthony Van Meer (MFMANZ), Rory Chacko (CFMANZ) and Bruce Kenning (CFMANZ).

The post-nominal they are eligible to use is a badge of professionalism which recognises their level of knowledge, skills, experience and qualifications.

For those of you who haven't yet been assessed into a new membership category, we strongly encourage you to get your application in to us before the end of the year. This will give us enough time to process and assess your application so you're all ready to go with your new membership category when our new CPD points system kicks off on 1 April next year. If you haven't been assessed before 1 April you will default to Affiliate membership. This Affiliate category is suitable for anyone who has an interest in FM, or is working within the FM industry. If you're a supplier of goods and services, or aren't interested in progressing along an FM career pathway, this is the category for you. While you won't qualify for voting rights from the 2020 AGM or to sit on FMANZ committees, being an Affiliate provides you with myriad opportunities to network with others in the FM industry.

Click here to see a full list of benefits for each member category, and here for information on eligibility requirements. And don't forget: if you're a corporate staff member, you are also eligible to apply. See here for more information, or email Briar at assessment@fmanz.org if you have any questions.
