What a Summit!
Thank you to Schindler and to all our wonderful sponsors, exhibitors, speakers and 200+ delegates who helped make FM Summit 2019 a fantastic success! It was a full, informative and enjoyable two days at Te Papa, with 19 plenary and seminar sessions, a bustling trade expo, behind the scenes tour, pre-dinner drinks, post-summit drinks and, of course, our gala awards dinner. Te Papa's Wellington Foyer provided a glamorous setting to celebrate FM success. Congratulations to this year's winners and to all our finalists. Congratulations to the winners of the 2019 FMANZ Awards! John Hutchings, Account Director with Cushman & Wakefield (Westpac and Auckland International Airport) took away the Brian Happy Award for Facilities Manager of the Year at the gala awards dinner at Te Papa on 26 June. Nick Flack, Asset Planning & Maintenance Manager at Christchurch International Airport, is FMANZ’s 2019 Young Achiever of the Year; and MacMillan Plumbing & Gas won the Service Provider of the Year award. Congratulations to them all, and to all the finalists. Read more here

Inaugural FMANZ Foundation Grant and Award Presented

At the gala awards dinner at Te Papa, Andrew Walmsley was presented with the FMANZ Foundation's inaugural research grant. A clinical psychology doctorate student at Massey University in Wellington, Andrew’s doctorate project is investigating suicide prevention among men in the New Zealand construction industry, with a focus on reducing barriers for men seeking support. You can read more about Andrew's work in this Newsroom article. Alice Campbell received the FMANZ Foundation's inaugural Student of the Year award. Halfway through her fourth and final year of a Bachelor of Land and Property Management (Urban Specialisation) at Lincoln University, Alice has a keen interest in facilities management.

There are also categories for Student and Retired members, with the title of Fellow awarded to members who have made a significant contribution to FMANZ.
